Lake Balaton is an amaizing freshwater lake in the Transdanubian region of
Hungary, the largest in Central Europe, and one of the region's foremost
tourist destinations with beautiful rolling hills and scenic wine regions
around it. This is where many Hungarians spend their holidays.
Balatonfured is Lake Balaton’s oldest resort. Baltonfured is a small town with 13.500 inhabitants, on the north shore of Lake Balaton (about 2 hours from Budapest), sorrounded by gently sloping hillocks. The town is in nitely rich in historic memorial places. A walk under the shady trees of Tagore promenade is an eternal experience for every visitor. In the summer season you can visit one of the vineyards of Balaton.
Tihany is one of the most beautifully located settlements in Hungary. Its main sight is the Tihany Abbey, a Benedictine monastery. You can have a traditional Hungarian lunch in one of the Csárdas. “Csarda” is a type of Hungarian restaurant with a folkloric atmosphere.
