Kazinczy Street Synagogue. the Kazinczy Street Synagogue has since become the religious cultural center of the Orthodox branch of the Pest Jewish community.

Right in the heart of Budapest, in the former Jewish Ghetto area stands the Grand Synagogue of the Orthodox Jewry, located in Kazinczy Street, opened in 1913.

Europe’s most outstanding Orthodox Jewish house of worship is one of the most significant Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) monuments in Hungary, and as such is protected as a national monument by the Hungarian State. Walls and the ceilings are decorated with stained mosaic windows which let in natural light, making it probably the most beautifully illuminated synagogue in Europe.
